Is a lounge right for your party?

Start with one question: who is coming? The KTV lounges in this guide are adult nightlife venues for guests aged 18 and over. They do not suit children. So a lounge works best for a 21st, a 30th or any birthday where every guest is an adult.

Lounges also cost more than most people expect. Google Maps users tag most of them at RM200 or more per person. On the other hand, they offer private rooms, big sound systems, drinks packages and late hours. In short, they suit a proper night out rather than a quick afternoon sing.

Either way, a good karaoke birthday party KL venue should give you three things. First, a room that fits your group without cramming. Second, a clear price for food and drinks. Third, staff who will let you bring out a cake.

Lounge picks for birthdays

Mansion 9, Kampung Pandan

Mansion 9 is the clearest birthday option in our research. It combines a Chinese banquet with karaoke in the same private room. Its February 2025 birthday Set A was RM1,688++ for ten people. That is about RM169 per head before charges. The package also advertised free room decoration, a cake and three hours of karaoke.

However, the kitchen closes at 11pm, so book an early dinner slot. The venue opens 3pm to 3am daily, public holidays included. Reviewers also mention slow service at times, so confirm your menu in advance. If you live east of the city, our KTV Kampung Pandan page shows the area.

De-Millionaire KTV, USJ

De-Millionaire sits on Level 1A of Sky Park at One City in USJ 25. Its Instagram advertised birthday room decoration for small groups in September–October 2026, plus a birthday lucky draw. It also has small rooms, which suit a tight circle of friends. Prices are not published, so ask by WhatsApp. One City's mall car park makes arrival easier for guests who drive.

Golden Palace KTV, Kuchai Lama

Golden Palace does not sell a dedicated birthday set. Still, it publishes room packages that bundle beer with room time, which makes budgeting easier. The small room starts at RM418++ with 12 cans, and the VIP room tops out at RM1,688++ with 36 cans. It has also run a birthday-month lucky draw. In addition, the venue announced refurbished rooms and sound in 2026.

Big groups and room sizes

Large rooms are the hardest thing to book. Most venues only have a few, and they go first on weekends. Here is what lounges have published or reviewers have reported about capacity:

  • Mansion 9 shows rooms for 30+ guests around round banquet tables.
  • Golden Palace sells four room sizes, from small rooms up to numbered VIP rooms.
  • D'Emperor KTV on Jalan Ipoh sells four room tiers: small, medium, large and VIP.
  • D'Arc Club in Ampang has a very large "King's Room", according to Google reviews.

For 30 or more people, call two or three venues and compare. Also ask whether the room has space for the cake and food. Exact capacities are rarely published, so get the number in writing.

Birthday booking checklist: confirm the room size, the package price with service charge and SST, whether outside cakes and decorations are allowed, and the deposit rules. Get the answers in writing on WhatsApp, and screenshot the promo you are booking.

Other lounges worth a call

Several other lounges can host a birthday, even though they do not advertise a set. For example, D'Emperor KTV runs a busy monthly promo calendar on Instagram, including a Halloween party on 31 October 2026. Its members can also redeem room tiers with points. Meanwhile, Bintang Palace in Bukit Bintang has reviews that mention live performances alongside KTV. It stays open until 5am or 6am, depending on the night.

D Babylon Club in Pudu is another option for a lively group. It pairs a bar with DJ, live band and dance shows with private KTV rooms upstairs, according to its own TikTok posts. However, none of these venues publish birthday prices, so ask for a quote first.

Cakes, decor and timing

Most lounges do not publish a cake policy. Therefore, ask before you buy one. Some venues may charge a cake-cutting fee, while others include a cake in the package. Mansion 9 has advertised a cake in its birthday sets, and De-Millionaire offers room decoration.

Timing also matters for cost. Some lounges run cheaper happy hours earlier in the day. For example, D'Emperor KTV posted a 4pm–9pm happy hour with a RM208 nett beer tower in June 2026. Similarly, De-Millionaire promotes a 3pm–7pm happy hour. So an early start can stretch the budget further than a late Saturday booking.

Finally, plan the ride home. If anyone is drinking, book a Grab rather than driving. Our KTV etiquette guide covers ordering, sharing the mic and other basics for first-timers.

Frequently asked questions

Which KTV in KL is best for a birthday party?

It depends on the group. For a sit-down dinner with singing, Mansion 9 combines a Chinese meal and karaoke in one room. If you want a drinks-led night on a set budget, Golden Palace KTV publishes room packages with beer. Meanwhile, for a small celebration, De-Millionaire KTV in USJ advertises birthday room decoration.

Do KTV lounges offer birthday packages or promotions?

Some do. Mansion 9 advertised a birthday Set A at RM1,688++ for ten people in February 2025, with decoration, a cake and three hours of karaoke. De-Millionaire KTV promoted birthday decoration and a lucky draw in 2026. Promos change often, so verify with the venue before you book.

Can I bring my own birthday cake or decorations?

Policies differ, and most lounges do not publish them. Some packages already include decoration, and Mansion 9 has advertised a cake in its birthday set. If you want to bring your own cake, candles or balloons, ask the venue first. Some may charge a cake-cutting or corkage fee.

How many people fit in a KTV room?

Room sizes vary a lot. Mansion 9 shows rooms for 30+ guests around round banquet tables. Golden Palace KTV and D'Emperor KTV each sell four room tiers, from small rooms to VIP rooms. Reviewers of D'Arc Club mention a very large King's Room. Ask each venue for exact capacities.

How far ahead should I book a birthday room?

Book large rooms as early as you can, ideally a week or more ahead for Friday and Saturday nights. Big rooms are few at most lounges, and some may ask for a deposit. Most lounges take bookings by phone or WhatsApp, so get the price and terms in writing.
